I've been searching for this answer since the mid 80's my response: My findings have concluded that at best it is Judeo-Christian mythology. I have found nothing that supports the general belief in a "Hall of Souls", from any religious stand point. The Seventh Sign did a good at a possible explanation, it being that when the last soul leaves, the hall from which the souls are drawn from, this marks the beginning of the end. Should you continue your search and find somthing substantial, I would love to hear of it.
