: An overview of " The new evidence that demands a verdict" a book by josh mcdowell
This may be all well and good however there are two flaws for you seek us to read a book by a car dealer in a sense who wrote a manuel on how one should be a good sales man to get people to buy what they really shouldn't be buying into. and that is what this fellow sounds like. now to deal with the acractuies, there is a serious problem wiht all this.
the first
: I would like to point out jesus was the son of god, not a creation of god. We are gods creation. There is a major difference and this is an area that you need to research and understand. Jesus was god in the flesh.
the problem with this is throughout the pagan or if you wish polytheis world men can become Gods. in the high priest of Orsis went through a ritual and proclim it is no longer I who live but Orsis. then we have the story of Hercules which we all know. and i can't remember the other one however it was around the time of paul and where he was at. thus this godman concept follows the way of polotheis.
Point 2 chirstainity over the time has took a bit of this and that in it's youth. much of it is quite close to gnostiicsm or zoster of the ying and yang if there is an all powerful good which is good then there must be it's oppsite which you call jesus and satan. which is the same theories the vikings had in a sense thus such a concept existed before chirstainity it merely been build upon.
point three, this point is the most important. thoughout the Old Testment there is talk of a messiah. but a messiah isn't a superman it is merely a man who called to annoited through oil by a prophet/levi as pointed out with samuel doing it to Shual and David. never with water is this done. and jesus was never annoited with oil, and if one says he was but it doesn't mention then that perhaps happen though it kind of funny everything else is mention.
point four: mercilous if you with to call them taht is meanless for even false prophets such as baalim did the liken even the phorah magus perform such wonderous acts. that doesn't mean we should follow however some did. but what about raising from the grave you might ask. are you to say you have not heard of others in other culture been seen as if they come back, or raisen form teh grave. yet you ped these as myth so why shouldn't you do the same to this one.
