: I am in a state of shock..... the only thing that has prevented me from writing to this date has been the knowlege that Douglas Adams was still out there, riding the cosmos of literary giants; my hero of whom I stood in awe!! And now if I do decide to pick up pen, it will be to display a tribute, as I cry myself to sleep, damp copy of HitchHiker's on my pillow, to dream of Dirk Gently and Zaphod... (sob) : : : : It's hard to believe that Adams is really gone. It's : : : harder still to convey its meaning to those who've never heard of him or who've never bothered to look for : : : experience beyond the conventional and ordinary. I can proudly call myself a geek thanks to Douglas Adams, as : : : his works opened up whole new realms of experience for : : : me. No drug can replace the euphoric sense of futility : : : I feel when I look at the world around me, knowing that all of the conflict in this world would be moot if the Vogons actually showed up, and that the only record of all we have strived for may be two smallish : : : words in a huge database of galactic information: and yet, pointing out that those two words would prove that : : : we were here. : : : Kind of makes you think, doesn't it? : : I wanna marry kelly. Any girl who actually gets Douglas Adams, and can proudly call herself a geek I gotta love. When I heard that he had died I was truly saddened. He had so much more to do. Does anyone know if the Hitchhiker movie is still in anysort of works?
