: Hi, I need your help. I am writing an economics paper on Adam Smith. He stated " the wealth of a Nation is the product of its people". In economic terms, I need to explain this concept. Can anyone help me get started? I appreaciate your help. Linda
Hi!
I'm very interested in "The Wealth of the Nation." Suddenly, I see this web page, I would like to share some of my opinions about the sentence "The wealth of a nation is the product of its people." From a student perspective, I think the word "product" means "aculation." Many monopolists or billionaires are considered rich(or wealthy) in relative to others because of their aculation. The wealth of the nation and the wealth of monopolists are built on the same factor--the aculation of its people. So, to me, Adam Smith's sentence means the wealth of the nation is the aculation of its people. Base on the aculation or collection(of taxes for example), the wealth of the nation is built and grown.
I hope my explaination gives you some idea. Good luck.
