:: It is not that one says that guns are good and cops bad; instead, the argument is that the police will not always be around at every millisecond of the day to ist a woman or man in danger, and therefore, one needs protection and must be willing and able to engage in self-defense. People have been carrying guns legally in this country for over 200 years, and before the sixties (or so), we didn't have all this nonsense in Colorado or elsewhere in schools. The solution is not to ban guns. If kids really want to harm each other, they will find weapons other than guns. If you would like to surrender your second amendment rights, go ahead, but do not demand that others do, because it is the others who are protecting your freedom (or arse, if you like).
