: This is so totally wrong. Muhammad never forced anyone o become Muslim.. only when the Jewish betrayed the Muslims to the idol wroshippers did they die. And that decree, that hthe Jewish men should die, was set by a JEWISH leader. And obviously Islam and Judaism will have many similarities: they ar both revealed from the same God.
:
: : : : i need some information abour judaism,and common bliefs b/w islam and judasm.
: : Read this, I pasted this from a
: : really good website
: :
: : Islam, like Christianity, accepts the Jewish Bible and is based largely upon Jewish ideas and traditions. The philosophical underpinnings of Islam, however, are more closely aligned with those of Judaism. Whereas Christianity incorporates the idea of the "trinity," Islam believes in one all-powerful, infinite God.
: : Mohammed, the founder of Islam, based many of his beliefs on the practices of local Jewish population in his native Mecca. For example, the Moslem practices of not eating pig, circision, daily prayer and fasting during the first month of the year were all culled directly from Judaism.
: : Since Islam was so similar to Judaism, Mohammed umed the Jews would immediately accept this new religion. When the Jews did not live up to his expectations, he turned violently against them and many Jews died by the sword. (We are still suffering from this today; may there be peace soon.)
: : The real difference between the two religions, however, lies in their basis for belief. Judaism is based on the unique historical event of a divine revelation experienced by the entire nation. Whereas Islam is based on the prophetic claims of a single individual who subsequently convinced others to follow his ways.
: : Talmudic tradition says that while Abraham's son Isaac became the forefather of the Jewish people, the Islamic line is descended from Abraham's other son Ishmael.
: : Maimonides states that the popularity of Christianity and Islam are part of God's plan to spread the ideals of Torah throughout the world. This moves society closer to a perfected state of morality and toward a greater understanding of God. All of this is in preparation for the Messianic age.
: : Note, differences and similarities I have found
: : Fast days are similar, islammic ramadan Vs jewish yom kippur. Muslims used to fast yom kippur!
: : and face jerusalem when they pray (like jews)
: : Mohammed changed his ruling (after jews rejected islam) to face Mecca and fast ramadan
My dear friend you seem to be misguided, and let me try to correct you.
There are indeed similarities between Islam and Judaism, but the Prophet Mohamed did not copy this from the Torah. Know this if you did not know: The Prophet Mohamed was illiterate so he couldn't of have copied it. Therefore, what he preached came directly from god. Second, when the prophet first arrived to Madina he started by establishing peace with the jewish residents of the city, and did not act violently against them until they went back on thier word and tried to kill him. Also I would like to give you a new piece of information: there were no jewish people living in the city of Mecca. And to say that the prophet forced jews to accept Islam or be killed is a clear demonstration of ignorance and misguidedness. The prophet has instructed his followers not to force anyone into Islam. You can also find out with some research if you are truly interested in finding out the truth and not pasting something from a "good website", that when the direct threat of war against the Prophet and his followers was eradicated the prophet followed an amazing policy of non violence. I can go on and on about the history of Islam, but the pages of this website will not be enough to cover all the aspects of Islamic history. I do hope that you attempt on searching for the truth.
