I'm a newbie, but you seem a thoughtful bunch and I'm curious as to where you might lead me:
I'm wondering what philosophers have to say about sport and game as recreational activity, as something that is good for its own sake, and in relation to divine worship. I'm especially looking for relationships (both like and dislike) between game and art, music or poetry.
So far I've been looking at Josef Pieper's ideas on leisure and work, as well as a bit of Aquinas, Aristotle and Plato. But I'm open to any sources you might offer. Thanks much.
