Hypothetically, if a hole was dug through the Earth from one side to the other and you were to drop a dense metal shpere into the hole, what would be the result?
How fast would it travel and how far past the core would it travel before gravity pulled it back the other way?
That is, if it didn't hit the sides of the hole and that the core was a solid and not hot.
