: Hypothetically, if a hole was dug through the Earth from one side to the other and you were to drop a dense metal shpere into the hole, what would be the result?
: How fast would it travel and how far past the core would it travel before gravity pulled it back the other way?
: That is, if it didn't hit the sides of the hole and that the core was a solid and not hot.
CINEMATICS TELL ME THAT IT IF the center of the earth was Y=0 reference point and you droped the object with Vo = 0 at a H height, then it would travel an exact h height in the opposite direction
past the center of the earth.
