It seems as if Aeschylus wants to avoid painting Agamemnon in a bad light, and make Klytemestra the bad guy. In reality, of course, there is enough gulit to go around for everyone. Or this is the way I see it. If you have any more questions, or if I can be of any further istance, just let me know. Scott

I'm not sure about the painting Agamemnon in a good light bit! What about his attitude towards Clytemnestra (ok, so she does deserve it, but he doesn't know that yet!, what about the chorus' description of him directing the sacrifice of his daughter... what about the line about him slipping Nooses of fate around his neck?:)
