I also have a copy of "Droll Stories by Honore de Balzac" and wonder about the value. However what confuses me is that my copy is also London January 1874 and Translators Preface also states that it is the first English version ever brought before the public... It sounds like the same book but it is illustrated by Gustave Dore not Steele Savage. And it says "Bibliophilist society". Does any one have any info. on this? Thanks!
