you are confused, jesus died on the cross for us to be forgiven of our sins. that is where grace and mercy come into play. we are not expected to be perfect but to do our best as human beings in this world and to keep trying to follow jesus even if we fall short.:

In Reply to: Are Christians the Anti-Christ? posted by WD on August 23, 1998 at 02:09:03:
: It appears to me that Christians are anything but
: Christians: for none follow exactly what Christ taught,
: as they continually misuse and manipulate "The Bible"
: to their own personal ideas (e.g., hoarding Heaven,
: saying that only those who believe as they do will
: enter; they kill each other in the name of their lord
: --we even have priest killing abortion doctors, and
: justifying it; and they continually p judgment on
: others; et cetera...) Nietzsche said there was only one
: true Christian, and he died on the cross; and I believe
: this to be true.
: Finally: "Toward a history of Christianity.--Continual
: change of milieu: Christian doctrine is therefore
: continually changing its emphasis, favoring the lowly
: and little people--the development of charity.--The
: type Christian reumes step by step everything that
: it originally negated (in the negation it endured).
: The Christian becomes citizen, soldier, judge, worker,
: merchant, scholar, theologian, priest, farmer, artist,
: patriot, politician; he takes up again all the
: activities he has foresworn: self-defense, judgment,
: punishment, oath-taking, distinguishing between nation
: and nation, contempt, and wrath.--The whole life of the
: Christian is at last exactly the life from which Christ
: preached deliverance."--Nietzsche
