: : : Has anyone out there ever seen a production of Brecht's BAAL? Curious about your experience.
: : No, I haven't yet, but if it has anything to do with gorillas, I'd love to see it! Gwen:)
: not seen it but researched it for my a/s level performance studies.
: "strong stuff, both horrible and fascinating"
: NEW YORK TIMES on it's first New York production.
: it is a provocative story of a drunken, ruthless womanising poet and singer, a desperate antihero in the tradition of Villon and Rimbaud. written in 1918 with it's first production in 1922
I directed a production as an undergraduate at UNC-CH. Its an interesting piece - one of Brecht's earlier works - its quite a bit different - not for the faint of heart
