Hi,
I didn't find EVERYTHING about Mack the the Knife. I wanted to find out what meter it (the German version) is written in. I could not find it. I think the stresses of each stanza are as follows: ('= stressed, u = unstressed)
uu'uuu'u
uu'uuu'
uu'uuu'u
uu'uuu'
However, with my lack of knowledge in poetry, I cannot name this pattern. It seems like to name meter, you have to have repetition within the line, which I don't see; I only see repetition across lines...
Any ideas?
PS - I tried to use x for the unstressed, as is standard, but mobydic-s.com would not let me, because they use some sort of censor that decided that three x's in a row are offensie to the US congress (??!??) (NOTE: I Can't even enter the name of the site because the censor says it is offensive!!!!)
