: No no no. Crime & Punishment is not about isolation and suffering. It is about good old fashioned capitalist values (and ones that were really in vogue in Russia a few years back. Sadly Raskolnikov was an independent operator and really didn't understand the concept of group action beyond that silly commie crap. The cops would have never caught up to him if he was in a good crime syndicate) and a guide to picking up chicks ("just compliment them again and again", as the sleazebag whose trying to do Rasky's sister says. However, he does it by killing himself)
: Now if only we would all email similar queries with such brilliant insights maybe the philosophy students would actually go somewhere else for their papers. (Anyone else wanna go on about the similarities between Pikachu and Prince Myschkin?)

: : Hi~ I'm new at this so please be gentle. =) I'm suppose to write an essay on the themes of isolation and suffering in Crime and Punishment, but I can't seem to find a strong relationship between the two. Basically, I can't think of a thesis for my essay. =p So if any of you wonderful people can help me by giving me suggestions and examples, I will forever be grateful. =) This is due on September 7 so I really need help. Thanx a bunch =)
::The isolation of Raskolnikov makes Dostoevsky's theme of "salvation through suffering" easier for tthe reader to understand.
