here is my best answer to your problem. number one, there can be a common theme running between all three brothers and their father. mockery and sincerety. all three at times in some form are mean or evil or what ever, they do bad things, that's mockery. then they all do good things. The father shows signs that at one time he actually loved his firs wife, Ivan attempts to accept the idea of god, Dmitri in some way loves his messed up dad, and I have not been able to figure out Alyosha yet becuase he seems to be sinless. Anyways, those are your sincerety. i think that this represetns humanity. being human, means having emotion despite how big of a jerk you are or how much you might be indefferent to something, since they are all human, they will show emotion even though they might think that they don't have to or don't need to. that is my answer to your question and I hope that it helps you out. if it does not, please don't yell at me like youdid at the other guy.
