Is the point of a message board on Dostoevsky then *not* to discuss his works? Sometimes people are confused and ask for a little help. They are simply requesting an exchange of ideas, much the same way as you would discuss Dostoevsky's work if they did not have a paper due, it's simply that they have a deadline and they are looking for a spark to get them started on thinking. Have you ever been completely in the dark about a subject (let's take math, for example) and then someone says "See, you divide by 2x here..." and then suddenly you completely understand everything about the problem? It's the same thing. Don't judge too harshly, it's against the philosophy in Crime & Punishment. ;) If people are begging for an entire essay, tell them they should read the book and/or give a few helpful while nebulous suggestions. I'm also opposed to people dictating answers to questions like "Who did Razumihin fall in love with?" but not gaining another perspective on the symbolism of Katerina Ivanovna's forcing the children to perform in the streets.
