I'm working on Burke's aesthetics, and arguing basically that he is refuting, not using, locke. I see this borne out in a number of ways, but the most obvious one is that the vindication of natural society is a parody of Bolingroke's radical Lockian relativism. Does anyone know of anything that links this early essay with the aesthetics, or that discusses B's rel to Locke as one of parody?
