Well, i am no expert on Kierkegaard, I am studying him now and have to write a paper on him.
Kierkegaard was rebelling against Hegel's philosophy. Kierkegaard believed that Faith is a leap beyond reason, for reason cannot help you in your relationship to God. Reason has its limit and then Faith must take over. Therefore, education will be useless for one's relationship with the eternal Being.
The infinite resignation is the giving up of claim to finite things, to the finite world.
The love and pion one has for the finite ought to be concentrated on the infinite.
What he tried to show is that each person is a synthesis of the infinite or tomporal and the infinite or eternal.
The Aesthetic and the Ethical sheres lack the means to unify one's life.
The religious sphere of existence is the only way to develop a unified meaning in one's life.
Well, i wish i could say more, and in a more coherent fashion, but its late and as i say, i am struggling with this myself
But then SK says life is a struggle, doesn't he?!
