Good question. When Jesus rose from the dead, it was his body was "glorified"--which means, loosely, that it in a super-natural state of perfection. Such a glorified body is not limited by space or time; hence, it does not need a physical place to reside. It has a different way of being than the physical. Yes, it's very difficult to grasp, but give it a try.
