now in 1984 the use of continuous warfare designed to use up excess goods and services, in order to keep the proles from ever thinking properly and to keep them uneducated and mindless. propaganda was continuous in prais whenver the war was mentioned and everyday it was the same old lie being changed from one lie to the next. but here its a little different the continuous propaganda is the television, radio and newspapers, they advertise for private intrest and have potential omni-presence over not just one country but the planet, now also in 1984 thier was the war machine, the ministry of plenty that had to contiuously produce to keep the permanent war in effect, they also had a propaganda machine, being the ministry of peace.
but in the "free" countries, the use of mass consumption to use up the excess consumption goods, and the reasons for its use vary. the use of the amerircan war economy is to "control the public mind", as classical liberals always warned of the permanent state of war. the use of war is to manufactur consent over the masses to maximise imperial rule and profit.
as can be seen in latin america......
the use of the propaganda machine is to "cpinciously manipulate the organised habits and oppoines of the masses" quote ed bernays, and as can be seen in the fifies, the capitalist propaganda techniques and private control over banking land and industry. the propaganda in the fifties came stright outta the public relations industry. it was used to cook up war fever against the communists, and to "regiment people's minds as armies do thier bodies" into a capitalist state of mind, just as the soviet union set up the frame work of communism but of course they used omni=potence.
anyway, i must be crazy.
moral of the stroy is, advertising is the propaganda, and the continuous use of consumption goods is the machine, i ask you, have you ever seen the movie, soilent green?
