I'm just curious what : her motives were pertaining to the Jesus prayer. What was bothering her? Why is she so obsessed? It was never explained what exactly encouraged her to say the prayer. I think my favorite JDS stories are the ones where certain conflicts go without a final resoloution, but it just seemed like he left some loose ends, rather than just leaving possibilities open for the reader to interpret or imagine. I considered the possibility that maybe Franny was pregnant. That would explain the mood swings and her undue emotionality. Any thoughts?
