: What are these teachers THINKING? igning comparison/contrast papers on F&Z and Catcher? The heck? I mean, granted, both could be considered "coming of age" novels, of sorts... Still, they have completely different sets of themes, philosophies, characters... Bleah! There is either too much to say, or too little. Where to begin? It's no wonder these kids are confused... : I go to a competent college here. I always thought I was a smart kid. But I never, NEVER saw the point of "compare/contrast" papers. : I'm thinking that there's a dearth of truly competent English teachers around. Oy vey is mir. I think I'll drop out of school and lie around and shave my head and say the Jesus Prayer and beg God for a little mystical experience that'll make me nice and happy... : Whoops, sorry, Z. *g* : Or maybe I'll just abandon this sad, sad bulletin board and continue writing my paper on moral theory in F&Z.
